What do you do when...

You're too terrified to RP?

Seriously, it's been nearly 3 years since I last roleplayed anything. I left the site I used to do RP'ing at, and for a while I did a little bit of 1x1 fandom stuff, but that's it. I'm pretty self conscious about the stuff I do, and I worry all the time that what I put out isn't good enough. ; A;

Does anybody have any idea to get over these roleplaying fears?

Maybe start with just 1x1 rps on here (I guess you'd have to specify you'd like to keep it like that) or over a messenger with people you're comfortable trying to rp with to get yourself on your feet again? :'0c

All it takes is one post, I swear. D: I was terrified, but then I was all "AAAH SCREW IT. I wanna do at least a little!" and finally started. After that it was super easy. X'D

Admittedly, I was having a small drink at the time, which may have contributed. U__U

Just jump right in. I haven't RPed for a good two years either, so i'm a little slow and nervous myself, even tho it's my own damn group. Like me or i'll kick you out! >:( Hahaha! No, but really, everyone here is nice; just go for it! Start off small, maybe just RP with someone you're closest to here (you can have private RPs people! Just start one with rules in the first post! "Only so-and-so are allowed in the thread" whatever).

I think the best way to break free of the rust is do what a lot of others did and just make the most of an introduction page?

It really helped me get back into the swing of just writing and posting.

As others have suggested, if you really need to, do private 1x1's until your confidence goes up enough. That, or just jump in.
